Andreessen Horowitz Crypto Arm Launches $2.2B Fund for Crypto Startups

a16z Crypto, the cryptocurrency arm of Andreessen Horowitz, has unveiled a $2.2 billion fund called Crypto Fund 5, aimed at supporting blockchain startups at multiple growth stages over the next decade.

The firm said the fund will focus on stablecoins, payments, and decentralized infrastructure. Additionally, it will target on-chain financial markets, including lending, perpetuals, prediction markets, and tokenized assets.

Despite subdued market sentiment and growing investor attention on artificial intelligence, a16z maintains that crypto fundamentals are stronger than ever.
