Arthur Hayes Sells Entire Zcash (ZEC) Position Following Orchard Pool Exploit

BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes confirmed on X that he has fully exited his Zcash position, citing concerns tied to the Orchard Pool exploit.

He noted that while the likelihood of token minting was considered very low, it cannot be ruled out with absolute cryptographic certainty. In his view, privacy-focused narratives demand a higher standard of assurance, particularly when weighed against risks involving governments, artificial intelligence, and major tech companies.

Alongside these concerns, Hayes also referenced ZEC’s roughly 30% decline, saying the drop prompted him to revisit his investment thesis. He added that he has secured profits by closing the position entirely, while keeping the option open to re-enter if his assumptions change or are proven incorrect.
