Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, could soon lose its authorization to operate across the European Union if its licensing application in Greece is not approved.
The outcome depends on Binance’s MiCA request, which is reportedly nearing rejection by the Hellenic Capital Market Commission. Without this approval, the company would fall short of the regulatory standards required to continue serving EU customers from July onward.
Binance has responded by stating that it believes it has fully complied with MiCA requirements following 18 months of engagement with regulators and the completion of its application process in Greece. Meanwhile, the Greek regulator has declined to comment publicly, citing confidentiality restrictions.
