Bitcoin Remains Core Institutional Bet Amid Improving Crypto Conditions: CoinShares

A CoinShares survey of 26 institutional investors managing a combined $1.3 trillion indicates rising interest in digital assets, though overall portfolio allocations remain modest at around 1%.

Bitcoin continues to dominate as the preferred exposure, but sentiment toward Ethereum and Solana has notably strengthened. Currently, 32% of respondents hold Bitcoin, while 25% report exposure to Ethereum.

The report attributes the gradual increase in crypto adoption to the growing availability of ETFs and a more favorable regulatory environment. However, broader uptake is still constrained by internal investment restrictions and ongoing regulatory uncertainty. At the same time, investor focus appears to be shifting away from legacy altcoins toward decentralized finance (DeFi) and emerging blockchain sectors.
