Brazil Prohibits Crypto Donations in Political Campaigns

Brazil’s Federal Public Ministry (MPF) has reaffirmed that political parties and candidates are barred from accepting cryptocurrency donations, in line with regulations in place since 2019.

The authority emphasized that all campaign financing must be fully traceable, noting that the pseudonymous nature of cryptocurrencies can conflict with transparency standards. It added that violations of these rules could result in fines and other enforcement measures.
