The Cardano Foundation has seen its request to secure funding for the upcoming community summit rejected through an on-chain governance vote tied to the Cardano. The proposal received 65.21% approval from delegated representatives (DRep), which did not meet the required 66.67% supermajority threshold for passage.
The rejected funding request, which sought 7.8 million ADA valued at approximately $2 million at the time, was intended to support a two-day flagship event for the Cardano Summit 2026, scheduled to take place in Singapore on October 5–6, 2026.
After the 30-day voting period concluded on May 29, 2026, the Cardano Foundation confirmed on May 30 that it accepts the outcome and will not proceed with organizing the summit this year.
