A new CertiK Skynet report finds that groups linked to North Korea were behind a majority of crypto-related losses in 2025.
According to the analysis, about $2.06 billion of the estimated $3.4 billion stolen in digital asset security incidents can be attributed to these actors—roughly 60% of total losses. The report also connects 79 of the 656 recorded hacks during the year to groups associated with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
