Citi has lowered its 12-month price forecasts for Bitcoin and Ethereum, while also sharply revising down its expectations for crypto exchange-traded fund (ETF) inflows.
The bank now expects Bitcoin to reach $82,000, down from a prior target of $112,000, and has reduced its Ethereum forecast to $2,240 from $3,175.
Alongside the price revisions, Citi also cut its projection for crypto ETF net inflows over the next year from $10 billion to zero. The bank pointed to sustained ETF outflows of about $3.3 billion in Bitcoin funds so far this year, alongside slower progress on U.S. crypto legislation and concerns over potential selling pressure from digital asset treasury firms.
