Coinbase Reports Service Slowdown After AWS Data Center Overheats

Coinbase said some users experienced degraded performance on Thursday after overheating affected an Amazon Web Services data center in Northern Virginia.

The exchange identified the issue around 6 p.m. Pacific time and informed customers that their funds remained secure. Coinbase also directed users to the AWS health dashboard for updates on the disruption.

As restoration efforts continued, the company said trading services would be re-enabled shortly.
