Crypto Use in US Hits 3-Year High in 2025, Fed Reports

A Federal Reserve report found that in 2025, about one in ten U.S. adults had either used or invested in cryptocurrency. This marks the highest share recorded over the past three years, showing a gradual increase compared with 2023 and 2024.

Despite this increase, adoption remains below the 2021 peak, when 12% of Americans reported engaging with crypto in some form.

Looking at the breakdown for 2025, most activity was investment-focused at about 9%, while 2% of respondents used crypto for payments and 1% for sending money to friends or family.
