Ethereum’s staking participation has continued to rise even as the token’s price has declined this year. ETH is down 26% year-to-date, while the staking ratio has still increased from 29% to 31%.
Consequently, a growing portion of the total supply is now locked in staking, further reducing the amount of ETH in active circulation over the period.
Looking ahead, the introduction of spot ETH ETFs along with the expansion of on-chain tokenized assets could bring additional institutional capital into the staking ecosystem. How this ultimately affects ETH’s price will largely depend on the scale of institutional inflows that actually materialize.
