EU Grants 244 MiCA Crypto Licenses Before July 1 Compliance Deadline

The European Union had granted 244 Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) licenses under the MiCA framework as of June 29, with Germany leading the bloc with 57 approvals and France following with 26. Together, the two countries account for more than one-third of all licenses issued.

The licensing rollout comes just ahead of the July 1 compliance deadline. While several member states, including Greece, Poland, Hungary, Portugal, and Romania, have yet to issue any MiCA licenses, crypto firms without MiCA authorization will no longer be allowed to provide covered services across the EU starting that day.
