Ethlabs, a newly launched nonprofit research organization, has officially begun operations with a founding team drawn from former researchers at the Ethereum Foundation.
The initiative brings together Ansgar Dietrichs, Caspar Schwarz-Schilling, Barnabé Monnot, Josh Rudolf, and Julian Ma. It is backed by industry supporters, including SharpLink, Bitmine, Anchorage, Joe Lubin, SNZ, and Octant.
From now on, Ethlabs will focus on advancing Ethereum protocol development, with research spanning scalability, settlement efficiency, cross-chain interoperability, data availability, and protocol economics. The organization has also emphasized that it will remain independent, with its leadership determining priorities and no external influence from its funding partners over its technical roadmap.
