Hacker Launders $822K in Ethereum Following $76M Echo Protocol Attack

An attacker reportedly exploited the Echo Protocol on Monad by minting 1,000 eBTC worth approximately $76.6 million. Following the breach, the hacker moved 45 eBTC into Curvance, a multi-chain DeFi lending and liquidity platform, and used it to borrow 11.3 WBTC valued at nearly $867,000.

The borrowed funds were then bridged to Ethereum, where the WBTC was exchanged for 385 ETH worth around $821,000. Subsequently, the ETH was routed through Tornado Cash in an apparent attempt to conceal the transaction trail.

Meanwhile, the attacker is still believed to hold 955 eBTC, currently valued at approximately $73.2 million.
