High-Profile Perpetuals Trader loracle.hl Sees $42M Gains Erased as HYPE Short Backfires

Crypto trader loracle.hl is being compared to James Wynn and Machi Big Brother following a sharp reversal in his trading performance.

Over nearly 10 months, he reportedly built up about $42.2 million in profits from perpetual trading. That upward run, however, quickly turned after a short position on Hyperliquid moved strongly against him. In just 18 days, the trade erased his earlier gains and left him with an additional loss of roughly $5.19 million.

After the setback, he has reduced most of his short exposure but still holds a remaining 843,232 HYPE short position, valued at around $61.4 million.

The shift comes as Hyperliquid has surged about 60% over the past two weeks, hitting a new all-time high of $73.73 today.
