Jane Street Cuts Bitcoin ETF Holdings, Boosts Ethereum Exposure in Q1 2026

Jane Street, a major Wall Street quantitative trading firm, reshaped its crypto ETF positions in Q1 2026, reducing exposure to Bitcoin funds while increasing allocations to Ethereum products, according to a regulatory filing.

The firm cut holdings in key Bitcoin ETFs, including BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust and Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund. IBIT positions fell about 71% QoQ to roughly 5.9 million shares worth $225 million, while FBTC dropped around 60% to nearly 2 million shares valued at $115 million.

In contrast, Jane Street increased its Ethereum exposure, nearly doubling its stake in BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust and raising its position in Fidelity’s Ethereum Fund, adding about $82 million combined across both ETFs during the quarter.
