Kraken Partners with MoneyGram to Enable Global Crypto-to-Cash Conversions

Kraken has partnered with MoneyGram to make it easier for users to convert cryptocurrency into cash, according to Fortune. The service will be available at nearly 500,000 physical locations across more than 100 countries.

The partnership targets one of crypto’s biggest pain points: converting digital assets into local currency. This is particularly relevant in regions where banking access is limited or local currencies are unstable. Through the new service, users can withdraw cash directly from MoneyGram outlets, paying a variable transaction fee.

Kraken says demand for reliable “off-ramps”—tools that allow users to move from crypto into traditional money—is growing. More people are increasingly using crypto platforms as alternatives to banks for storing value, making payments, and transferring funds.

For MoneyGram, the deal reflects a broader push into digital assets as the company works to modernize its services and stay competitive with fintech firms.
