Long-Dormant Bitcoin Wallet Linked to Clifton Collins Moves Another 500 BTC to Coinbase Prime

Clifton Collins, an Irish drug dealer who accumulated around 6,000 BTC between 2011 and 2012 at an average price of about $5 per coin, transferred another 500 BTC worth approximately $30.85 million to Coinbase Prime around 12 hours ago, according to on-chain data.

Collins had recorded the wallets' private keys on paper and hidden the notes inside fishing rods. After his arrest on drug charges, law enforcement confiscated his property but failed to retrieve the keys, leaving the Bitcoin inaccessible for nearly ten years.

The wallets unexpectedly became active again three months ago, marking their first activity in about 10 years. Since then, a total of 1,500 BTC has been transferred to Wintermute and Coinbase Prime. The wallet still retains approximately 4,500 BTC, currently valued at around $276 million.
