Michael Saylor Says Strategy Remains Net Bitcoin Buyer Even if Small Sales Fund Dividends

Michael Saylor told CoinDesk that even if Strategy were to sell a portion of its Bitcoin holdings in the future to help cover dividend obligations, the overall impact would likely remain limited. He noted that the company’s long-term approach is expected to result in significantly more Bitcoin being acquired than sold, keeping net exposure strongly positive.

Addressing criticism that Strategy tends to accumulate Bitcoin during market highs, Saylor said the firm strategically takes advantage of periods when its stock trades at a premium. In those moments, it effectively converts elevated equity value into additional Bitcoin holdings, a mechanism he says ultimately increases the amount of Bitcoin attributable to each share over time.
