OKX Launches Exchange OS to Enable User-Created Markets

Crypto exchange OKX has introduced a new platform called Exchange OS, which allows users to create spot, perpetual, and outcome-based markets and decide which assets are listed.

The platform runs on OKX’s Ethereum Layer 2 network, X Layer, and it is designed to leverage liquidity from the wider OKX ecosystem while relying on the same core infrastructure that powers its main exchange, according to founder and CEO Star Xu.

Rollout will happen in phases, starting with a group of selected partners who will begin developing on the system. In this initial stage, the first live use case will be a prediction market centered on the FIFA World Cup.

After this early phase, access will gradually widen, with a public launch expected in the third quarter of 2026. Additional protocol upgrades and improvements are scheduled for the fourth quarter and beyond.
