Several Korean Companies Deny Joining Open USD Alliance, Question Reported Inclusion

Several South Korean companies reportedly named as members of an Open USD (OUSD) alliance have clarified that they were not involved in any formal negotiations with the stablecoin’s issuer, according to Chosun Biz.

The clarification came after questions emerged over the accuracy of the reported membership list. Samsung Electronics said it has not held official discussions regarding participation and added that its role in the initiative remains uncertain.

Other companies cited in the same report, including Dunamu and K Bank, also indicated that their engagement was limited to preliminary, informal inquiries about potential interest rather than structured talks.

Broader responses from additional listed firms—including KakaoBank, Hyundai Card, Samsung Card, and KB Kookmin Card—echoed the same position, stating they had not received formal communication and, in some cases, only became aware of their inclusion through media reports.
