Adecoagro, a South American agricultural company backed by major shareholder Tether, is preparing to launch a Bitcoin mining operation in Brazil.

The initiative will run on renewable energy generated by burning sugarcane residue, integrating the company’s agricultural resources with cryptocurrency mining.

During the first phase, Adecoagro plans to dedicate 10 megawatts of power to the project and deploy 1,280 Bitcoin mining machines. The operation is expected to go live around July 1, 2026.
