Tether Plans to Bring USDT Back to Bitcoin With RGB Protocol

Tether, the company behind USDT, is preparing to issue its stablecoin natively on the Bitcoin network using the RGB protocol v0.11.1, as part of an initiative led by UTEXO to bring the integration to market.

The planned rollout would mark USDT’s return to Bitcoin, following its original launch on the network in 2014 through the Omni-Mastercoin protocol. The new implementation is designed to enable USDT transfers directly between Bitcoin addresses and wallets that support the RGB standard.

According to UTEXO, the functionality could become available as early as July, with broader integration expected through Tether Wallet and various cryptocurrency exchanges at a later stage.
