Tim Draper Claims Quantum Computing May Break Banks Before Bitcoin

Billionaire investor Tim Draper has said in an interview that he considers Bitcoin holdings potentially safer than funds kept in traditional banks. He suggested that progress in quantum computing could expose vulnerabilities in banking systems sooner than in blockchain networks. He also added that if Bitcoin were ever affected by such a threat, the network could recover through a coordinated community fork-and-rollback mechanism.

On the other hand, a different perspective comes from Jameson Lopp of Casa. He has pointed out that upgrading Bitcoin to quantum-resistant cryptography may take around 10 years, while traditional financial institutions could adapt to quantum-related risks on a faster timeline.
