Uniswap Users Lose $400K to Deceptive Google Ad Campaign

A warning from on-chain analyst b-block highlights an ongoing scam involving fake Google ads impersonating Uniswap, with reports indicating that victims have already lost at least $400,000 after interacting with these fraudulent links.

Expanding on the issue, Stacy Muur, founder of the Web3 marketing agency Green Dots, noted that users were being directed to counterfeit Uniswap websites through sponsored search results that closely imitate legitimate listings, ultimately resulting in the theft of funds.

Meanwhile, the Security Alliance (SEAL) reports that phishing activity targeting Google Search has surged since March, with attackers increasingly relying on paid advertisements or compromised ad accounts to impersonate major crypto protocols.
