VanEck’s Matthew Sigel Predicts Bitcoin Could Hit $1 Million Within Five Years

VanEck digital assets research head Matthew Sigel told CNBC he believes Bitcoin could reach $1 million within the next five years, drawing a comparison between its adoption curve and the evolution of video games—from niche early use to widespread, generational mainstream acceptance.

Sigel argued that once people begin using Bitcoin, they tend to remain in the ecosystem rather than exit it. He also pointed to younger investors as a key driver of future demand, noting that many are already planning long-term allocations to the asset.

He tied this potential growth to broader demographic shifts and increasing willingness among newer generations to adopt digital assets. Based on current investor behavior and adoption trends, Sigel said a five-year timeline for such a milestone is within the realm of possibility.
